Harold, Kumar and Cute Waitresses

Wow. Today was a busy day. Woke up around 12 after the long day yesterday, saw Harold and Kumar go to White Castle around 2, ate at Islands Resturant around 5, played basketball around 7 and then played poker till like 12:30.

First Harold and Kumar go to White Castle, perhaps the funniest movie I've seen in a long time, maybe ever. This was the first time that throughout the whole movie there was consistant laughing in the theater. It was amazing. If you liked Road Trip, Dude, or Van Wilder, you'll probably like this. John Cho was great, everything.. It was fun going out with the guys (Alan, Devon & Patrick).

We went to the arcade in the theater after. While Alan and Patrick were tearing things up on Initial D, I wandered around and wasted some money. I played a game of Cruisin Exotica.. It's amazing easy to drive, if you know how to drive, and I quickly made up time as I took a sec to adjust to the game.. Bad part.. it's 1 friggin lap.. That was so infuriating.. I also played Star Wars Pod Race. Now that is a fun game, it's different because you have to use two throttles basically, one for each engine, and lowering the power on one, is how you make turns and such.. It was a fun game, but I got pissed, because for some reason it lost connection after 1 lap and reset.. If it's the theaters way of making money, that is stupid.. 1 lap is way too quick.. >:[

After theaters we walked to Islands that was nearby and we were served by a very cute waitress. She was so my type.. We had fun and ate, and then being the suave guy that I am, I paid for it with my credit card, and then while figuring out the tip, mentioned (apparently the waitress was close by to hear it) that she was cute and left a bit more.. It gave the guys a good laugh, and I wasn't proved wrong.. She was quite the cutie and totally my type..

After that some basketball, with a lot of the good guys we know. It was fun, but Me, Alan and Patrick haven't played as much as we used to, so we're not as good, and we tire a lot quicker.. We then played poker at Patrick's house, I ended up losing 3.75 (Alan ya still owe me that quarter! >:o) mostly on one hand where I got dicked by a full house I think. Pisses me off.. My strategy works, but Alan has my number down. I need to rework some things, get it perfectly, because he's the one that's beating me lately..

Poker buddy style

The guys talked me into playing tonight. I didn't really want to play, and I definitely wasn't going to do the 25,50 blinds.. Too expensive, and too many blinds for just 4 people. Anyway, looks like my new strategy is working better. I made $1. First time I've finished even or above in awhile, I think since before Lorn left in June.. It's really late, but I'm looking forward to later today since me and the guys are going to go see Harold and Kumar go to WhiteCastle.. Should be fun.

Happy Birthday Alan!!!

Wow.. Just got back from celebrating Alan's birthday and it was a very fun time. I'm glad I brought plenty of money with me, because it was all needed. I went over to Alan's place around 2:45, everyone had been there for awhile, Simon and I were the only stragglers.. Finally Simon came and we broke up into 3 groups (11 people) and drove to Pikwik to go bowling, we get there and the place is packed, so we end up driving down to LA to play at some huge bowling alley, that was pretty much empty. Everyone played 2 games, some (including me) played 3 games. I tied for the lead once, won once, and struggled in my third game, yet still cracked 100 in all of them.

Then we went to AMC in Burbank, ate at a place by the theaters called Chipotle. I had a burrito bowl, which was basically rice, carnitas, black beans and cheese. It was pretty filling. Then we went to go see I, Robot. It was a pretty good movie, a lot better than I thought it would be. I enjoyed it. We went back to his house had some cake said goodbye to some, and then went to Devon's to play poker. I did well early, by 1:30 I was up $3.. but by the end of the night (2 hours later) I finished down $10. =( It was a fun time, I also got to meet Alan's girlfriend, Rae, finally. She seems really nice, good fit. I gave Alan some money and burned soundtracks of Naruto. Plus a stupid card.. =)

It's late.. so I go sleepy now..

Weekly Comic Shop Stop

Went to Legacy and picked up some comics today. I got:

I got screwed with Birthright, it's a decent series, but I didn't find out it's a friggin mini-series till the last page.. So that's another one time comic for me. *sigh*

At least I'm starting to figure out which ones I'll follow, which ones I'll wait for trades, or which ones I'll borrow from friends.

Tech Tv =(

It's sad to see the shows I loved to watch on Tech Tv be cancelled or lose it's original cast. It's a shame nothing can be done, but Tech TV was on the selling block for awhile, so I guess it was just a matter of time.

It was hard enough not having Leo anymore (Lucky Canada getting Call for Help back).. but now no Pat.. Dang, they were the ScreenSavers..

I was just getting into ZD/Tech Tv about the last month it was ZDTV. I remember Silicon Spin, Internet Tonight and Cyber Crimes but the rest not really. And well Leo and Kate were the pioneer screensavers, but Leo and Pat were together just as long if not longer. At least Kate went to hang out with Adam on Extended Play.. but she eventually moved on as well.

I remember Leo mentioning a few months ago, that he and Sessler were the longest tenured on screen staff of Tech TV.

ZDTV and TechTV were great channels, it's just too bad it wasn't succesful enough apparently to stop from being sold and taken apart.. I became real familiar with a lot of the staff of that channel, and it was sad yet cool to see some move on, some come back, new people being brought in.

It just won't be the same.. It's obvious that they only went after the younger cast harder.. but also the moving.. It's just a shame. The book isn't the same if you just keep the cover and lose big chapters of the book..

And I have a sinking feeling eventually.. it'll be like that channel never existed..
