The PSX??!!

I've been so busy this week with classes as it's nearing finals already. I'm so looking forward to playing some bball tomorrow night, especially since with the tree still in my way and my rim totally messed up fridays have become my only night of balling. Hopefully during the summer I can coax people to come ball more often. I've been watching a lot of anime of late and have been enjoying every minute of it. I'm gonna cram for my programming class cuz I havent programmed since well before spring break so I am so rusty. lol. It's just too simple of a language and I can't wait till I start learning some languages this summer. Seeing that Finding Nemo is coming out tomorrow has gotten my artistic side going and I've begun to start drawing again with thoughts that maybe of exploring animation as a career path as well as programming. Essentially both are used in games, but I could see myself making cartoons as well. Thus I've decided to work with my flash program this summer and master it.

Anyways, leading to the title of this entry. Sony has announced that it will be releasing the PSX. Not PS3 but more options than the PS2. It is much more mulitmedia friendly and will be coming out this christmas in Japan. Has USB 2.0 capability, dvd burner and a 120 GB Hard drive, built in tv tuner, etc. I hope the PS3 has this stuff as well cuz I can't afford to buy this. :(

Always Good to Take a Little Break

Looks like the weather has turned back to its boiling ways. It's such a drag walking all the way to GCC, but I do enjoy that I get to drive back home. I tried to thank my mom about letting my drive the car and my dad started in on it doesn't matter if I can't pay for insurance and all that stuff. I think he still is sore about the way my job situation ended. I don't blame him but it's not like I'm not looking for another opportunity. Especially because I want to go to Anime Expo so badly. LoL. Always comes back to me. Well I redesigned the site and I must say it looks great. I was happy with the previous design but I thought I could make it better, so I did. ^_^

After spending most of last night and this morning writing my 10 page research paper, I decided to give myself a break today so I just finished the redesign of the website and then watched anime the rest of the night. I want to thank Alan for turning me on to Anime. I remember when I was so bored when he was watching Kenshin with Andy that I was like "How can they watch this??" but not only is Kenshin a great anime but there are many more animes that I have yet to see. Like right now I'm watching like 5 different animes on the computer and that's not counting the 3 that I watch on Cartoon Network. My budget is pretty tight but I get by. My birthday is in less than a month so I'm pretty hyped up on that. I want to visit CV before the school year ends, I want to see some people again.

I've been practicing my golf swing and I must say it looks pretty good. I can't wait to go out and play 18 holes over at Verdugo. I hope that everyone had a good memorial day weekend, I did. I got to see my neice, she is so freakin' cute. OMG. Anyways, I've been on fire in basketball and I look forward every time I go play with Alan and co. I'm hoping we can play tomorrow night.

Week Almost Over

Another hot day. Arg. I watched Annika Sorenstam play on the USA Channel at the Colonial. She played well in my opinion. I hope someday I can play as good as that. Wow. I had a good time in English today, talked a bit, you know stupid stuff. lol. I didn't get to see all of Call for Help today but lately it's been lacking something......oh wait I know... Pirillo!!! I'm sorry Leo, I like you a whole lot but Chris just brought something different to the show. The rest of the week X-Play is having shows from E3 that took place last week....omg.. I wish I could go to that some day. Stupid people making it industry people only..arg. I just rented Enter the Matrix and Splinter Cell from Blockbuster for my PS2. Looks like I'll be having fun with those this weekend. Finally I wanted to tell everyone that I am: amazingly clean, small but I kick ass, dope, dead, and an elite skateboarder. ...Well at least that's what Googlism says I am. See what it says about U.

It's Gettin' Hot in Herre...

It's so hot lately. I've been procrastinating a bit of late but I will try harder from now on. Only like a month of school left. I'm taking the summer off due to the classes being at bad times for me so I have to do my best to pass my classes. I finally wrote my column, it took so long because I didn't feel like doing anything. I decided to take the marquee and date thing off my site...just didn't look good never was how i pictured.

My NBA predictions aren't going as well as I hoped, but it's still fun to do. Still haven't decided what anime to do next for my spotlight but next time I do Naruto I will put some of the interview with the creator that was in Shonen Jump Magazine.

I found this cool site that I found the other day. It's an easy flash file but it's still a cool idea. Basically it has Bart Simpson and you can have him write a sentence in the chalkboard. Bart

It wasn't supposed to end like this: The end of a Dynasty and the East Reborn

The Conference Finals are taking place in the NBA. Yet the Lakers sit at home, wondering what if?. The dynasty, the reign of NBA Championships are over. No 4-peat. Instead the Lakers are out of the playoffs, having run out of gas in the 4th quarter of Game 6 against San Antonio. It's a little sad for it to end like this, but the future looks to be brighter because of this. Maybe Mitch will look harder at improving the team that didn't win. A Laker team that won it's fewest games in 8 years. A Laker team that has the two best players in the game yet didn't have enough. This team was supposed to make history, cement themselves as the greatest dynasty to ever play the game.

The front office failed the Lakers. Shaq didn't fail the Lakers. Kobe didn't fail the Lakers. The lack of depth failed the Lakers. The fact that they had to use Robert Horry extensively in the regular season failed the Lakers. The fact that Samaki Walker never came to play this season failed the Lakers. We should've seen this coming. We were niave and thought that as long as Kobe and Shaq were healthy and played together the Lakers could have anyone on the court and still bring in the championships. This season proved this fantasy wrong. Think back to the dominant team of 1999-2000, the Lakers first championship squad, Ron Harper, Glen Rice and A.C. Green teamed with Shaq and they Had Derek Fisher, Rick Fox and Robert Horry coming off the bench. How about the post season dominant Lakers of 2000-2001, where they set the playoff record of 15-1. Fisher, Fox and Horace Grant were in the lineup, with Tyronn Lue, Devean George and Horry backing up. Then last year's championship team, where the Lakers struggled to repeat had fisher, fox and horry in the lineup with Lindsey Hunter, George and Samaki Walker backing up.

Gradually the Lakers bench got thinner and less dependable and this came to the forefront this postseason. Rick Fox hurt his ankle in the first round. Devean George hurt his ankle in the second and the lack of depth was apparent. Soon enough rookies were having to be played and the lakers got bounced out of the playoffs. The front office faith in letting this team defend it's title was ill advised and the team showed its age and vulnerability...Let's hope Mitch does some work this offseason and wakes up..

Without the possibility of having to stop Kobe and ShaQ in a best of seven, the weak east has been given new life. Perhaps this is New Jersey's year. They have dominated the East and are even better than last year when they went to the finals. Or the Detroit Pistons. The best defensive team in the NBA has a legitimate shot if they can put the ball in the hoop. "Rip" Hamilton has blossomed from the shadow of MJ and has become a scorer for Pistons. The West teams are still the favorites but the East has a chance. Word.

The Weekend

It's Sunday afternoon and I am so tired. I played basketball at CV Friday night and had a good time, it was nice escape from reality. Then yesterday I helped my dad for pretty much the whole day, cut the tree that fell in our backyard. We rented a chainsaw but there is so much that we will most likely have to rent the chainsaw again on another weekend. I'm gonna have to spend the week cutting the smaller branches and filling up our trash can....

I missed the Screen Savers on Friday, but I will watch the rerun on Monday morning...I was able to catch MegaMan NT Warrior on Kids WB yesterday, it looks real good and it makes me want to play the old MegaMan Games again..It feels strange not seeing the Lakers playing at this time of year..just under a month till my birthday...I have this kick ass idea for a program and I'm gonna work with my friends on making it a reality, I'm excited about the possibilities..I've been playing Ragnarok Online for a few days now...still confusing but it's fun I am going to try to see some anime today...my column should be up sometime tonight....that's all. TTYL..

Can my Day be any Worse??!!

Well it's now thursday and I've yet to be notified..I'm mad, this situation could not be any worse and i'm now facing the prospect of being technically fired before I even work....and then LA lost and I came back to reality, I was niave and thought they could get away with not improving and win it all again but the bounces just didn't come our way. My column this sunday will be about them and it'll be good... Anyways. I'm playing the Beta version of Ragnarok Online. I hope that's the right url.

It looks like an interesting game and I have fun playing it. It's like a 500+ MB download though so I suggest only dl if you got broadband connections. If you do play it look for me, my name is Skywalkerz. lol. Yup I'm a Star Wars nut, I think it's in my family's blood. I'm looking forward to the next time I play golf, I've been practicing my swing so we will see. I'm looking forward to the new movies Marvel is gonna come out with. My brother and I were talking about this and he showed me this picture That's all for now. I just realized tomorrow is trash day and i haven't taken the trash out so i'm gonna go do that...lol... My Time is Adrift??

Today is tuesday. The store opens tomorrow. I have yet to been notified by it of my hours of employment. Simple reasoning would say that I would work tomorrow. I don't know this. I must now take this into my own hands. I was told I would be called, now i must do the calling. I don't even now the number. Maybe i should call the human resources lady...I doubt that she would know though. I'll most likely have to look up the La Canada Store( Where I went to get hired and such) and ask who i need to communicate with. Then I will have to scramble to the local clothing store and buy the rest of what i need for my uniform and get dressed in limited time... I hope I don't have to work tomorrow...

The Lakers play tonight. Hopefully they can continue the momentum and win tonight. The Ducks won last night, they are up 2-0. I saw Mike today at GCC. I'm going back to Math class tomorrow...I have to try my hardest to catch up and pass the last two tests.. I haven't been really into anything lately... anyways everyone..... Live Long and Happy......

Another Week Already

It's Monday already.. I'm not feeling too well today, I have like a hoarse throat. Had a nice Mother's Day party yesterday. Held my neice Caitlyn. Yesterday was her 3 month birthday. I watched the Lakers beat the Spurs to even up the series...now they have to go beat the Spurs in San Antonio so that they have a chance to win the series here in Game 6. My prediction might come true...Just a little over a month till my birthday....A lot of nice games coming out so I can't wait till I have money and buy them.

I pre registered for Anime Expo on Saturday. Looks like everyone's going to be unpaid preregistered since there's like 3 more days to send the money and always seem to be busy....lol...I've been procrastinating on my HW of late... I'm gonna work on my essays today and even my program most likely...I've got an event to go to tonight so I have to break out my suit....A big tree in my backyard fell yesterday. It hit the power line and we were out of power for 2 hours, had to call the city and get the wire replaced, etc. Now there is a big tree in the backyard that I have to take care of now because the city refuses to take responsibility even though they trimmed the tree earlier in the week...also my basketball basket will need to be replaced when the tree is cleared because the tree hit it directly... My Anime Spotlight was put up early Saturday Morning... I'm hoping to put my Sports Column today a little later than expected but I've been busy. I should be starting my job this week.... Untill next time... ttyl

Playoff Fever: The Lakers road to the Finals and other Sports

The 2002-2003 Los Angeles Lakers did not have the best record in the league, The Spurs did. The Lakers didn't have the MVP of the League, the Spurs did. After 30 games of the season the Lakers did not have the best record in LA, the Clippers did. These are usually not good signs for a team that will win the championship, but these are the 3-time Defending Champions. The Lakers have the two best players in the world right now with Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant and the best coach in the world Phil Jackson. I never lost faith in them and they are now showing the heart of a champion. Through the last 52 games of the season they won at nearly an .750 clip..This has been their hardest season to date with these cast of characters. The GM of the Lakers failed to improve the team much and this team is basically the same that won the title last year.

He wanted to give this team another season to see if they could defend their title. However, this resulted in the Lakers showing many weaknesses and have had a harder time than previous seasons. This is more evident now in the playoffs where the Lakers are tied with the Spurs 2-2 in the Western Conference Semifinals. Their lack of a bench and the age of their role players have really come to a spotlight in this series. They lost Rick Fox in the First Round against Minnesota with a torn tendon in his ankle. So far they have been able to survive without him because of Devean George stepping up into the starting rotation and showing true grit and determination when he himself went down with an injury in Game 1 of this series and came back in Game 3 when LA was on the edge of going down 3-0 and they have won the last 2 games. Without George they had to push Shaw to the starting lineup and the lack of bench was obvious as LA used a rotation of basically 6 guys that they could rely on.

Robert Horry has not shown up yet this season. His shot has been off and his confidence has been low. The Lakers will need him to show up sometime soon if they expect to win the Championship again. Shaq and Kobe may score but they need help to win.. The Anaheim Mighty Ducks have caught the magic that the Angels had and have become the cinderella of the Hockey playoffs They beat the defending Cup Champs in the first round. They beat the top seed in the second round and now they hold a 1-0 lead against Minnesota in the Western Finals. The Ducks are riding the hot glove of Goaltender Jean-Sabastian Gigure as he is on pace to break the record for shutout minutes in overtime with well over 160 min so far. If this isn't fate maybe it's more irony because it looks like the Ducks are following the exact same path as the Angels as they face the Minnesota Wild in the Western Finals just as the Angels faced the Minnesota Twins in the American League Finals...I think the Ducks have a good chance to win it all Good luck Anaheim and man what the hell is in that Orange County water and can the Dodgers take a sip...

Even the Los Angeles Avengers of the Arena Football League have the best record in the franchises history and have a shot at the top seed in the playoffs this year. I haven't watched much of the AFL but I must say that the Avengers look good and have a good chance to bring home the title...

Playoff fever is going wild here is Southern California and lets see if we can bring some championships home... Peace.

Boy is it Late

Well I finished my anime spotlight a day later than expected....darn procrastination at work...don't forget it's Mother's Day today so be nice to your moms....I decided to make my anime spotlight biweekly so that i can give more effort into it...I'm going to a mother's day thing at my brother's house tonight..I'm gonna try to shoot some hoops this morning. I'm still pissed from friday when I got no love from any of my teammates and was practically frozen out of the game. I think i was passed the ball to a max 3 times each game.

If it wasn't for my effort of rebounding and defense I would've never touched the ball..It's not that i'm upset with not making points but the fact is I feel i can find people open and stuff like a point guard because I don't mind not scoring as long as I'm helping my teammates get open shots but that can't happen if i don't touch the damn ball!!!...Lakers won on Friday...big game... gonna need another one later today...I wish Phil Jackson well...He had angioplasty i believe on Saturday. I hope he gets better.... I watched the first half of DareDevil the other day, it's a pretty good movie and I will definitely buy the DVD....well I'll ttyl ^^

It Just Feels Good

Once i had decided on a layout, finishing the rest of the site came pretty quickly for me. All my pages are up but it still feels a a little empty but that should change with my review coming tomorrow and my column coming on sunday. I'm gonna start writing those tonight. Well I went back to English today after like over a week off; I was sick on Thursday and the class was cancelled this past Tuesday...

Anyways I have some essays to write but that won't take long. I'll do that this weekend as well as getting the books for my research paper on the DMCA...I hope people become aware of the DMCA because it must be stopped.. I shot a 140 this past weekend at El Cariso Golf Course...I made it under 150 which was my minimum goal...I shot horribly on the front 9 (72) but the back 9 (58) I stopped being tight and nervous and finally played my game and would've done even better if not for some bad luck.. I can't wait till I play again.

The End is Near

This is the first entry on my redesigned website. I'm now finally confident in my design. I went through about 4 different ones, 2 actually made it online and 1 didn't get past photoshop...lol...even though that was probably gonna be the coolest looking one, it just didn't come out the way it was supposed to look. That was most likely the result of my lack of photoshop skills...

At the time of this entry my title could mean several things... the impending doom of my beloved Lakers who have been struck by the injury bug but i still have hope as long as Kobe and ShaQ are healthy....but my title stands more for the fact that my job will be starting soon....my first job. I'm a little nervous but .....also it's in the home stretch for the spring session of GCC I'm really tired of all my classes already and i'm just hoping to pass them all...though I have weaknesses in all of them.... anyways before i go I'd like to mention that on The Screen Savers which plays on Tech TV I was happy to see the return of Jessica to the show(hopefully for more than just awhile) and to see Scott back brought back a lot of memories back during the ZDtv days.....lol....So till next time.... TTFN ~ Tah Tah For Now!!
