Weekends Over!!

Almost a week since my last entry.. Anyway, I saw a copy of Finding Nemo and I will definitely be buying that movie when it gets released on DVD, a good movie. Hopefully the Guys and I will finally be able to coordinate our schedules and get together this week and hang. I'm really enjoying the presents I got for my birthday. I bought myself a new putter and a nice Nike glove. That should help my game plenty since my previous putters were not a good fit with me and would force me to put in a way that was uncomfortable to me.

I got some film developed during the week and found pictures from my graduation last year and I have since posted them on the events page. I've decided to rest my mind for awhile and stop looking at JavaScript code for awhile. I was about half way through learning the basics and I'm looking forward to when I'm refreshed and able to concentrate on the code fully. While I rest from JavaScript, I will be learning how to use Maya. After some failed attempts at installing some copies of Maya, I decided just to use the Personal Learning Edition as it is the full program, with just a watermark to prevent commercial use. I'm really excited about learning Maya and at the possibilities it could lead to. Until Next time, Chaio!

It's My Birthday!!!!

Woohoo!!!! I am now 19. I feel older already. lol. It's been a fantastic day so far. Sorry to get sappy right off the bat but the fact that I have my family to celebrate it with is the best gift I can get. I have a great family that is really nice and caring. Anyway, I will now run down a list of what I received for my birthday:
Infusion Basketball - It is so freaking cool. I'm so glad for the new ball. Thanx Mom & DaD!
Golf Bag Cart - I'd had been looking to getting one. This will so come in handy. Thanx Brandon and Vicki!
Ps2 Network Adapter - Wow! I'd been looking to play Ps2 online. Now I can! Thanx Mom!
Ps2 Games (Splinter Cell, Nba Street Vol 2, dothack//infection) - I'm gonna have fun playing these. Thanx parents!!

I'm having a great time and I look forward to having a great year. Now I'm gonna get back to enjoying my presents... oh, and the hardest part... sending out the thank you cards... joke... Till Next time!

Happy Father's Day!

Whenever it gets around to this time of year, I always get excited. Not because I'm a father but because it means that my birthday is just around the corner. Yup, only 2 days till my birthday. I've already seen some things that in my mind I'm not supposed to see yet, but going off of that it looks like it's gonna be a good birthday. I can't wait till we finish clearing my backyard of the branches and repair the hoop somehow...(I have no idea what's gonna happen there.) because CV seems to be getting invaded my mini people. It was cool that Armen came to play ball, and me, him and Kenny went off in his car for some drinks and just to chill after. He's moving back to Ventura, so this was sorta like a sendoff in some ways, but I think he's coming back for his birthday, I believe.

I'm looking forward to going to the mall this week and hanging out with Ike and Alan. It's too bad the Hulk doesn't come out earlier in the week instead of friday, and the new Harry Potter book is finally coming out on Saturday. I got hooked on that series and then it took forever for this latest book to come out. It's super long so I'll be battling my mom on who gets to read it first, lol. Well I have to get ready to go out for Father's Day so I'll ttyl....

Am I encoding this too??

oh boy. Since yesterday, I've been encoding video files to burn onto a VCD. Basically a day of computing power went to creating all those puppies. I'm glad that I'm done with that for awhile because I can't do anything with the computer while it's processing all that data. On that point, I'm gonna need to buy some CD-R's soon. I played basketball with my friends on friday night, I had a pretty good time but I must say will the sad dumbasses stop coming to the courts??!! Only 9 days till my birthday and I'm looking forward to it. Till next time.... Peace.

TGIF

With a smile on my face, I gladly welcome Friday to my life. Which means only 1 more week of school and that's it! 11 days till my birthday. I told my mom I wanted 2 snes games for my birthday but I doubt I'll get those because it's an old system and these particular games were really popular. Not a big thing though. I truly want to go play Golf real soon because my swing is looking the best it has and I really want to see improvement. I started learning JavaScript this morning. So far it seems fairly easy. Seems like most computer languages are very similar and thus makes learning more than one easy. I'm taking notes like I did when I learned the basic functions of HTML and I'm really picking up on the language.

I really haven't had time to look for a job this week, but I will look extensively during the weekend because no money will effect my whole summer, including the ExPo I want to go to next month. I'm still hoping for a miracle at the end of that rainbow but I'm being realistic... arg. Been a tad on the boring side this week. Watched a lot more eps of Shaman King this week so that's been good.

Anywho, I found this cool site where you pit someone against another and the winner is decided by the amount of results they get back from google... I dunno if I made any sense right there but here is the site: Google Fight.

Till Next time, Same PaQ time, Same PaQ day and Same PaQ Channel!!!

12 Days

12 days till my 19th birthday. It's hard to believe that I am that old. This past year has gone by so quickly. I remember it as if it was just yesterday when I graduated from CV. In fact, I ran into my old high school buddy, Victor, today after English Class.. lol we spent like 20 min remembering some of the good times we had at CV. Today i've spent some time reflecting on some of my poor judgements, and old friends. Anyways I went to English turned in my research paper... *knock on wood* I hope I get ok grade. That's about it. Daniel Challenged me to 1 on 1 for Friday. I'll see how I do. I haven't had time to train, which is something I wanna do to get in shape and such. Till next time, "Beam me up Mr. Scotty!"

Why all the Hype for Lebron???

Lebron James is 18 years old and is about to graduate from a high school in Ohio. What sets him apart from his classmates is the fact that he is going to be the #1 pick in June's NBA Draft. He has been the most publicized high school athlete in history. He will be picked by his own state's team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and is set to make millions of dollars in the league. Not only that but he has already been signed by Nike to endorse their products with a contract worth over $90 million dollars.

This contract will pay Lebron more money than his first NBA contract. This is way too much to pay someone who hasn't even stepped on to the NBA level to endorse your products. The excuses that have been given range from he's going to sell out arenas, he relates to the crowd more, and that he is the next big thing. I'm very upset at the publicity given to this teenager and it has nothing to do with the fact that he is younger than me. First off, there have been comparisons to Magic Johnson by the commentators about the way Lebron plays. To this I say that first Lebron's competition is high schoolers who are increadibly easy to fake out while Magic did this against the pros. Also Magic played at both ends all the time. The 2 times I saw Lebron on ESPN he was almost always near half court on defense, waiting for the ball to be either made and inbounded or missed and rebounded so that he would be open for highlight dunks. This behavior is very Ricky Davis in my opinion, not Magic Johnson.

The fact that he will sell out arenas is a remark that is highly overrated. Lebron may sell out in Cleveland but I doubt he will be the reason places sell out. Sure I won't deny that attendance won't rise with the curiousity of how he plays but he won't sell out everywhere and will have less chances to sell out once he gets flattened on his ass by the true players of the league like Kobe, AI and TMAC. I wouldn't go to an NBA game to see a high school player play but I can't talk for everyone. In regards to Lebron relating more to the NBA crowds thus making a better endorser for products is misguided. Yeah sure he may relate more to the crowds because he was once one of them but I would rather buy a product endorsed by a more established superstar like a Kobe or an AI. However not everyone is as smart as I am and follow trends and I'm afraid that the media is trying to turn Lebron into the next big thing and market him for trends. The Next MJ is already in the league and his name is Kobe Bryant. Kobe is only 24 and has 3 rings. Yet the media is trying to continue the cycle of the next MJ with Lebron. However unlike his predecessors, namely Grant Hill, Harold Miner and Penny Hardaway, Kobe has stayed away from injuries and has won. His game is like Jordan's, his competitiveness is only matched by MJ's and has a very friendly persona for marketing. Yet the media is starting the cycle again. I believe that this has to do with the fact that Kobe is just like MJ but has the potential to be more than him and that has the NBA scared. Mind this is just a conspiracy theory but with all this going on it has a grain of truth to say the least because there seems to be an acceptance to Kobe-hate, which I find just senseless. Lebron may be good but he is not MJ, and not even Kobe. Peace.

If I Only Knew

Some of my columns have been slow to be put up this week due to school being so hectic. I had fun playing bball on friday, my leg is still slightly sore from getting kneed while I was driving to the basket. My outside shot is just on fire and I am really enjoying playing. I rented NBA Street Vol. 2 for my Ps2, it is so much better and more difficult than the first. I definitely want to own that. Only 16 days till my birthday!!! ^_^ I've got some prospective jobs in the works. Working on my resume so I can send it out.

That's about it for now. I have to cram a lot of programming into a short period of time so I most likely won't get to the Lebron column or the next anime spotlight till during the week but they will both be worth the wait. Anyways as I do lately here is a cool video that people have been talking about. Basically it's a guy who filmed himself pretending to be a jedi from Star Wars. Many people have done things similar to this but he actually is caught on tape!!! lol always wanted to say that. Here's the link: Star Wars Gone Wild!
